History
1999
Since the date of its foundation ARMENIA TV Company was
gradually being developed and as the first, it has created the system
of dynamic stations for live air purpose. As a result, it was able to
provide with live reports from any corner of the country, covering various
incidents, cultural events, concerts, etc…
During the same year not only the number of ARMENIA TV’s private
programs increased, but also the company managed to conclude contracts
with professional TV-studios, which gave us the opportunity to place
their high-quality TV-production on ARMENIA TV. At the end of 1999 ARMENIA
TV Company had already gained the highest rating-results in the region.
It was awarded with "GOLDEN ARCH" Prize at the Arch of Europe
Awards.
2000
ARMENIA TV passed to a new stage of development and,
as the best TV-company, it got the right for a transmission-net over
the whole territory of Armenia. ARMENIA TV Company could establish a
company of Satellite-transmission, called INTELSAT ARMENIA SATELLITE
CORPORATION, on the ground of which transmission via INTELSAT satellite
was possible. The satellite-broadcast project was to provide transmission
both over the whole territory of Armenia and Diaspora. Thus, this was
the most important factor for PAN ARMENIAN first TV, which during a
short period of time could manage to broadcast its programs over Europe,
Middle East, America and Australia.
2001
Gerard Cafesjian became a shareholder of Armenia TV. Cafesjian Family
Foundation and Sargsian Family became shareholders of Armenia TV.
2002
As the best TV-company, due to its high quality transmission, ARMENIA
TV concluded an exclusive contract with “SPORT5”, in conformity
of which it was to broadcast the Italian “SERIA A” football-matches.
On the basis of our long-lasting partnership and cooperation with UEFA,
ARMENIA TV was also able to broadcast the football-matches of the CHAMPIONS
LEAGUE.
ARMENIA TV was the only television company in Armenia with the right
to broadcast totally 25 matches of the WORLD CUP. Undoubtedly this was
a great opportunity for the Armenian TV-viewer to watch the most intense
football-events of the world’s sport-life.
During all these years ARMENIA TV’s transmitters were being installed
all over Armenia, which made the transmission of ARMENIA TV available
over the whole territory of the country.
2003
Armenia TV was re-licensed being authorized to broadcast until 2010.
During the same year Armenia TV reequipped its technical outfit. In
particular, the television bought OB VAN 12 new cameras. The construction
works of Armenia TV new headquarters were also launched in the same
year.
2004
In September Armenia TV celebrated the opening of its new headquarters.
The building is located in the center of Yerevan, in front of the Davidashen
Bridge. It occupies 350 000 square feet. It has also about 100 000 square
feet of office, studio, cinema and café territory. In 2004 Armenia
TV began its official broadcasting in the largest US network, Dish Network.
Now it is possible to watch live Armenia TV programs for 24 hours on
the entire territory of the United States.
2005
Armenia TV implements new projects, including YO-YO show child program,
the new games of Healthy Lifestyle club, documentary film shootings
such as Arshil film. Armenia TV acquires licenses for new international
broadcastings such as Wimbledon Tennis Cup, Box World Championship from
the USA, the best soap operas of Globo TV, UEFA Cup live broadcastings
and so forth.
2006
During 2006 ARMENIA TV continued to be the highest rated TV-channel
in Armenia.
ARMENIA TV implemented a number of new TV-projects, acquired broadcast
licenses for the best international shows, formats and films of the
world’s major distributors.
AGREEMENT
During 2006 ARMENIA TV continued to cooperate with WARNER BROS Company
and signed a new contract with UNIVERSAL PICTURES Company.
FINANCIAL
During 2006 ARMENIA TV had 150% revenue increase. ARMENIA TV is in
the list of the main tax-payers in Armenia.
TECHNICAL
During 2006 ARMENIA TV started to apply HD television format for the
first time in Armenia. ARMENIA TV upgraded all its editing and shooting
systems with HD facilities.
ARMENIA TV put its second studio with 2.000 sq. /m. surface into full
operation, where DEAL OR NO DEAL show has been launched.
AWARDS:
For its particular contribution in the field of television ARMENIA
TV was awarded a Fridtjof Nansen Prize, as well as received an honor
by the Vice-President of Armenia and a Media Award by UNICEF.

committed. The series follows the cases of the Crime Scene Investigation
division of the Las Vegas Police Department, usually referred
to by officers as the "Las Vegas Crime Lab.

PRISON
BREAK
one
of the most popular TV-series nowadays, is on ARMENIA TV Channel.
Prison Break is an American television series that premiered on
the Fox Network in 2005. The story revolves around a man who was
sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit and his brother's
elaborate plan to help him escape his death sentence. Created
by Paul Scheuring, the show is produced by Adelstein-Parouse Productions
in association with Original Television and 20th Century Fox Television.
The current executive producers are Paul Scheuring, Matt Olmstead,
Dawn Parouse, Marty Adelstein, Neal Moritz and Brett Ratner. Its
theme music is composed by Ramin Djawadi, and was nominated for
a Primetime Emmy Award in 2006.
