According to president of Sunchild regional environmental festival Rouben Khachatrian, participation applications for the regional film competition have been received from Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia and Georgia. Khachatrian said that so far the largest number of applications has been received from Turkey.

The “Daniel Pearl World Music Days” was created in response to the 2002 kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl at the hands of extremists in Karachi, Pakistan. After Pearl’s funeral in the spirit of his love for music, his family decided to inspire hope and unity by inviting people everywhere to dedicate a musical event on October 10, 2002, the day he would have turned 39 years old. After 2002, annually two weeks of worldwide concerts- remind people of Daniel Pearls living pan humanitarian principles and the universal power of music.
Since 1993, the Paros Chamber Choir has dazzled audiences throughout Armenia, the Middle East and Europe with a repertoire of classic chamber music and ethnic folk music by Armenian, Russian and Western composers. Performing and rehearsing under the direction of Maestro Vachagan Navasardyan, the Choir, which takes its name from the Armenian word for lighthouse, envisages preserving Armenia’s culture and helping improve the living conditions of disabled people in Armenia. |

The situation is not pleasant and definitely not hygienic. Also landscapes in Yerevan have nearly disappeared, instead the admiration and volume of cafes and restaurants increase daily.

Chairman of National-Democratic Union, first Prime Minister of independent Armenia Vazgen Manukyan said that he views and recalls some issues differently than Levon Ter-Petrosian.
Manukyan assures that whatever happened during the 1996 presidential election was a shock that changed the course of life in Armenia. “I am sure I won the election, then” said Manukyan, adding that after the elections hundreds of protesters were arrested and beaten. In 2008 Manukyan says he will contest the presidential election under the “down with this government, any other government is better”, slogan and two other suchlike slogans. |

Medical employees will be trained to diagnose diseases at an early stage and take the needed action.
During its 10 years of existence, the American-Armenian mammography center has examined 125.000 women. According to establisher of the center Khachanush Hakobian, the results of 60.000-mammography examination have revealed cancer in a large number of women under 28. Hakobian said that early stage breast cancer was detected in 700 women, and with the help of surgical interference the disease was eliminated. VivaCell executive director Ralph Yirikian said that the core of every Armenian family is a healthy woman and in order to have strong and health generations, the nation needs strong and healthy women. |

The national teams of Judo, weightlifting and boxing train in the Abovian sport Complex built in 1984, and reconstructed three years ago. During his visit to the complex, Armenian Prime Minister Serj Sarkissian met with boxers training for the world cup championship in Chicago on October 26 and wished them success in the upcoming competition. More then 1,000 children train in the sport complex.
The Chess school in Abovian was built on funds provided by parliamentarian, head of the Olympic Sport Committee Gagik Tsarukian and Abovyan mayor and also funds released for “Best Sport Town” annual presidential prize. Serj Sarkissian said that the construction of sport schools must be transferred from the capital to the provinces to surface all of Armenia’s athletic potential. |

Some of them including Rouzan Donoian, Levon Gharibian, Anna Shirinian and Knarik Krikorian were granted gold medals for their services.
